Making meringues

Meringue is a delicious pastry that anyone can make with a little patience and care. Most people are scared of making meringues as they have a legendary reputation for being moody little beasts. However this reputation is not justified as they are quite easy to make with the right recipe.
Meringues as cookies are baked at a very low heat for a long time. Meringues are originally from France and are made from egg whites and castor sugar. Sometimes one can add vanilla essence too. One can also eat meringues with whipped cream and fresh fruit or make a floating island dessert. Bon Appetite!
